Sweet Potato Pie Smoothie

Sweet Potato Pie Smoothie

Just whipped up this insanely good sweet potato pie smoothie. I love absolutely everything about the holidays from the festive lights to buying presents for others, spending time with family, and of course, the FOOD, but not a fan of how all the treats have to be filled with so much sugar and how crappy they make me feel after eating them. This smoothie is something both me and my body can agree will make me feel good, is incredibly nourishing, provides long-lasting energy, and isn’t super sweet! It even has a hidden green vegetable in there that doesn’t alter the taste but adds vitamins and minerals to an already nutritious breakfast. Insert holiday happy dance.

Recipe type: Smoothie
Serves: 6
Ingredients
  • 1 cup almond milk (one that is only water and almonds)
  • ½ a frozen banana
  • ⅓ cup frozen broccoli florets
  • ½ a cooked sweet potato (see below for directions on how to prepare beforehand)
  • 2 dates, pitted
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp all-spice
  • ¼ tsp ginger
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Prepare the sweet potato by baking in the oven at 375 for 30-40 minutes or until small amounts are bubbling at the ends. I always put a 3-4" nail through the center of mine to thoroughly cook them through the middle.
  2. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until everything is fully blended and there are no remaining chunks. Serve immediately and top with cinnamon or any spice of your choice!
