Clean Beauty Favorites

Clean Makeup Products

It’s been a long time coming, but I am finally sharing my favorite clean beauty products! For most of my life, I have used products containing harsh chemicals that are damaging to my endocrine and nervous systems. Over the past few years, I have begun to slowly switch over to clean, plant-based and organic products that benefit my health, are good for my skin and don’t completely break the bank (only one or two do…but I promise they’re worth it!). So here we go…

My current lineup consists of the following:

Why I love them:

  • Morning:
    • Juice Beauty’s Green Apple Brightening Cleanser: Refreshing, cleans incredibly well, no residue left after washing, doesn’t break the bank ($26) and works great on all skin types (Blake and I both use it and have normal and oily skin types, respectively).
    • Juice Beauty’s SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer: This has honestly reduced my previously product-heavy makeup routine into a single item, and now I can’t live without it! On some days, when I used to put on a full face of makeup, I now use this tinted moisturizer by itself. The consistency is slightly thick to start but feels weightless once on your face. I currently have the Tan color (will need to switch in winter since I will be incredibly pale…), which adds a nice summer glow. And huge added bonus? Your face is protected from the sun. At. All. Times.
  • Evening:
    • Tata Harper’s Regenerating Cleanser: Remember how I said only a few break the bank? Well, this is one of them. But it’s WORTH IT. It might be $78 but it’s 4.1 ounces and lasts for months. I love how much it truly cleanses, removing oil, dirt and dead skin cells from your face without leaving your skin dry and flaky. This product has transformed my skin over the past few months; I only use it once a day, so it ends up being comparable to a more moderately priced cleanser since I buy it so rarely.
      • Also, if you haven’t heard about Tata Harper’s products, the whole line is incredible with all ingredients grown on their small organic farm in Vermont. Hard to beat that. More info can be found here.
    • Cocokind’s Matcha Moisturizer: This little jar is only $16 and packs a serious skincare punch. It’s made with coconut oil, matcha powder, pomegranate oil, and bergamot oil. That’s it. Oh, and it’s 100% organic. I love how smooth and silky it makes my skin feel without the oily, sticky feel of many other facial oils. I put it on every night before bed and wake up with incredibly moisturized skin.

My current lineup consists of the following:

Why I Love Them:

Alima Pure Compact

EcoBrow

  • Ecobrow Defining Wax and Brush: hands down the best eyebrow filler I’ve ever used. And I’ve tried a lot. I’m completely obsessed, particularly as it’s easy to put on for someone like me who sometimes struggles with application. The combo of the brush and wax is a must as the brush applies the product evenly without that dreaded heavy or fake look. I seriously love this stuff and, as an added bonus, it lasts FOREVER. I’ve had mine for a couple months and have barely made a dent. $$ well spent.

Khol Eyeliner

  • Jillian Dempsy Eyeliner: I used Benefit’s pencil-style eyeliner for years, so searched far and wide to find a comparable product with clean ingredients. HERE IT IS. I love the smooth application, the rich color, and the blender on the reverse end of the pencil. Plus, this eyeliner has serious longevity so easily lasts from morning to night.

W3ll People Concealer

  • W3ll People’s Concealer: While I don’t use concealer on a daily basis – unless going out for a fancy dinner, wedding, or event – I still like to have one on hand at all times. This one is fantastic because of its ample yet lightweight coverage, and because you seriously need micro amounts to reap the full benefits. At this rate, it’ll take me years to finish this tiny little tube!

Lily Lolo Mascara

  • Lily Lolo Mascara: I have been trying different clean mascaras for years now and nothing compares to this one. The thick applicator helps spread on the mascara easily, making for incredibly full, long lashes. I am absolutely obsessed with this stuff and can’t believe its only $20!
  • Tweezerman Eyelash Curler: While eyelash curlers may not ever need to fit into a “clean” beauty product list, I felt it necessary to include this one as it’s such high quality yet very affordable. At only $13, it’s an easy, economical addition to any routine. Prior to applying my mascara, I use this curler to even out my lashes so all my mascara glides on easily.

Origins Blush

  • Origins Blush: I’ve had this blush for a long time and love how consistent and vibrant the colors are, how easily it works on a variety of foundations, and how long it lasts!

So there it is! These are my current favorite beauty and skincare products. Most of these, as evidenced by the links, can be found at Credo Beauty, aka my new favorite store. It’s like a Sephora for clean beauty products. Simply magical.
